Now we know where the subsidy was coming from -- his unpaid suppliers. I wonder how much he owes Xerox for giving away their service charges for next to nothing.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Mr Willett appears to have had an obsession with the principle of a fixed price product, irrespective of quantitiy but, as Denis Healey put it, you can't abolish the laws of arithmetic. &amp;nbsp;Digital colour is expensive -- period.&lt;/p&gt;

Dell for example only exists online, but still sends out print direct mail. Firebox.com likewise sends out its catalogue in print. The internet has allowed really niche stores access to a scale of audience that makes such a business viable (it might be an urban myth but I think eBay started out as an exchange forum for people collecting Pez sweet dispensers - &amp;nbsp;now that's niche). And most of these online shops recognise that print catalogues are a fantastic sales tool&lt;/p&gt;
